Forest Green Rovers Stadium Competition

The Forest Green Rovers are an English football club situated in Stroud. The owners of the club, Ecotricity, sponsored a competition for an energy neutral, ten thousand seat stadium. It was designed to accommodate other public amenities, including a sports club, exhibition hall, and outdoor concert venue so that it could continue to produce revenue during the off-season. The design incorporates a photovoltaic canopy, rain water harvesting, and ground cooling, as well as green roofscapes to create a ecologically responsive facility. The stadium team included Trevor Butler, Dr. Roly Hudson, Michael Westlake with Richard Kroeker as lead designer. The entry was a finalist, runner-up in the design competition.
